As part of the German Biosecurity Programme, a serology workshop was held in Tunis, Tunisia, from 6th to 9th November 2023. A team of experts from the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, Federal Institute for Animal Health (FLI), trained 12 PhD students and residents from the École nationale de médecine vétérinaire de Sidi Thabet. The workshop focused on the zoonotic Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever orthonairovirus (CCHFV) with a particular emphasis on the performance of ELISA. Theoretical and practical knowledge was imparted. The aim of the workshop was to strengthen biosafety and biosecurity aspects in Tunisia and to take practical measures for future epidemiological and biosafety issues.
